Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Trades: Calc mobile application ("App"), developed and operated by Trades ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Trades: Calc, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms supplement, and do not replace, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which also governs your use of the App.

2. Description of Service

Trades: Calc is a construction and trade calculation tool that provides mathematical computations for various building trades, including concrete, electrical, framing, HVAC, plumbing, and welding. The App performs all calculations locally on your device and does not require an internet connection for core functionality.

The App is available as a free download with limited functionality. Additional calculator packs and features may be unlocked through one-time in-app purchases.

3. Disclaimer — Calculation Accuracy

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.

All calculations, results, estimates, and code references provided by Trades: Calc are for informational and reference purposes only. They are not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed professional.

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

No guarantee of accuracy. While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that any calculation, formula, code reference, or result produced by the App is correct, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Professional verification required. All calculations and results must be independently verified by a qualified, licensed professional (such as a licensed engineer, architect, or contractor) before being used in any construction, design, or engineering project.
Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Building codes, regulations, and requirements vary by jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for verifying that any calculation or code reference is consistent with the requirements of your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
Code editions and amendments. The App may reference specific editions of building codes (NEC, IRC, IPC, UPC, etc.). Local jurisdictions may adopt different editions or amendments. Always confirm which code edition applies in your jurisdiction.
Not professional advice. Nothing in the App constitutes professional engineering, architectural, or construction advice. The App is a mathematical tool, not a licensed professional.
User responsibility. You assume all risk and responsibility for any decisions made or actions taken based on calculations or information provided by the App.

Trades shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, losses, or costs arising from reliance on calculations or information provided by the App.

4. In-App Purchases

Trades: Calc offers the following one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases:

Core Unlock — Unlocks core features, one free calculator pack of your choice, and all reference tables.
Individual Packs — Additional trade calculator packs (Concrete, Electrical, Framing, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding).
All Access — Unlocks all current and future content permanently.

All purchases are one-time payments with no subscriptions or recurring charges. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle any payment information directly.

Refunds: Refund requests must be directed to Apple, as all transactions are processed through the App Store. We do not have the ability to issue refunds. You may request a refund through Apple's Report a Problem page.

Restoring purchases: You can restore previously purchased content at any time through the "Restore Purchases" option in the App's Settings.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, formulas, graphics, and trademarks in Trades: Calc are the property of Trades or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the App or its content without our prior written consent.

Building code references cited within the App (NEC, IRC, IPC, UPC, IMC, etc.) are the property of their respective standards organizations. Such references are included for informational purposes under fair use principles.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
IN NO EVENT SHALL TRADES, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP OR ITS IN-APP PURCHASES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
